Im not sure what you are considering but the best thing you can do is research & ask people who own that reptile if you arent sure about something
Owning a new pet is complicated sometimes, and even if you think that you are doing everything right sometimes you arent. Whats important is to give the best husbandry you can with the knowledge you have, and if it doesnt seem to be working thats when you do more research to see what might be the issue. Again, forums like reddit or facebook pages usually have very knowledgeable owners, ive personally used them for help with the fish i own and my experience has been positive.

Like i will legit do all the research for someone if it means that the care of the animals they want will be improved at all
